I can’t believe I’ve been writing this blog for over five years. 5 years ago I recommended getting into hacking and today I learned about “bug bounty” programs. These are programs where you find the vulnerabilities in the code of major websites such as Google, Yahoo, Intel, you get the picture. Here’s a list of companies that pay you for this service.
More and more companies are going to be clamoring for this service in the future. Just today a bank got sued for allowing a hacker to steal over $55,000 from them.
I should confess, I have not gotten into this field because I have other things I have been working on but if you are in the position where you have a lot of time on your hands, instead of playing video games (no offense!) maybe you could check this out and make yourself some money. From what I understand, the payouts can be pretty good.
If you want a career in this field, I believe the majors you would want to look into would be information security, and computer science .
If anyone has more information about this, please share with the group!
